If you are contemplating whether or not you should be replacing your boiler, we have created a list of tips to consider before you decide.
How Old Is the Boiler?
A condensing boiler will generally last up to 15 years if you keep up to date with its maintenance. It is important to note that a cast iron boiler can last a lot longer, some even up to 50 years with the right maintenance. If you have had your boiler for around this amount of time, then it is more than likely time for a new one!
How Much Money Are You Spending on Your Boiler?
The older your boiler gets you may end up paying more for your energy bill or have to constantly get it fixed. If you find that you’re spending more money than usual on your boiler, then you should more than likely replace it.
Is Your Boiler Becoming a Health Concern?
It is highly important to note if you see yellow flames coming from your gas burner or black soot on your oil burner. This could be a serious health concern, as it means that carbon monoxide is generating due to the fuel not burning properly. It is highly recommended for you to get a new boiler if this is the case, as this could be damaging to your household.
Is the Water Temperature Not Right?
If the water is either too cold or too hot, and you can’t seem to get it under control then it could be due to your boiler. This could mean that your boiler is no longer working properly, and it is time for a new one.
